KERRY HILTS | WE LIVE INSIDE A DREAM
June 8 – June 30, 2024
Regional Indigenous painter and carver presents refulgent Woodland style paintings and wood carvings based on Metis lore and Elder teachings.
Kerry Hilts is a regional artist, gas fitter, plumber and master gardener.
The artist states: “I proudly carry Metis blood through my veins. I have been influenced by the Esquimalt First Nations, working closely with them in British Columbia. There I did repairs, sharpened silver carvers tools, and made knives. I made dug out canoe bow knives for the Ahousaht First Nations… I embrace nature and all of its wondrous beauty.”
